First Grade Class!
First grade is such an exciting year! Children learn to read, write, and explore many math concepts. We also learn about communities, neighborhoods, families, and celebrations in social studies. In science, we focus on life cycles! Frogs, plants, and the moon are all life cycles we study. Sunshine and shadows is another part of our science curriculum!
Weekly homework assignment packets begin going home in November. although reading every night is homework from the beginning of the year. Reading to and with your child each night is the best way to help them develop language, reading skills, and comprehension skills.
Our specials schedule is:
A days = Library
B days = Art and Reading Buddies
C days = Music and Math Clubs
D days = P.E. and Computer Lab
Any time you need to reach me or you want to come in and visit for the day, you can call Toffolon School at 793-3280. We can plan your visit a day ahead of time.
