Homework Policy in Room 209

Every student will be required to read for 20 minutes each night of the week.  Students will be asked to read at least twice over the weekend for a time period of 20 minutes. In addition to this daily reading, students will be given reinforcement work in the areas of math, reading, or writing.  Every Thursday night the students will be asked to study the words for their weekly spelling test given on Fridays.  

On Monday, students will be given a homework sheet for the entire week.  Each day they will write down the assignment, and I ask parents to sign the homework paper each night to verify that the homework was completed.  If homework is not brought in the next day, the students will complete the assignment during morning meeting.

If there is ever a time when the homework is not clear or was too difficult for a student, please feel free to send in a note with the homework or send an email to me here at school.  I will work with your child during school on the assignment.  Thank you for your cooperation and assistance at home.
