Welcome to Room 22!
TIP OF THE MONTH:
~Reading fluency can help your child comprehend or understand what they read. (Reading fluency means reading smoothly with expression at a steady pace.)
Here are a few strategies to help your child read with fluency:
~Read easy familiar books frequently.
~Read a page to your child with expression, then have them read it back to you.
~Listen to books on tape.
~Read books or parts of books that have conversations.
~Pretend you are the characters in the book and read your parts with expression.
~Poetry is a great way to practice fluency! Have your child recite favorite poems or get a funny poetry book from the library.
